Over a year in the making, the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) launched its Faith & OCD Resource Center. I have had the privilege to serve on the Task Force and to be a regular contributor to this and the Annual OCD & Faith Conference. While many of my readers most certainly know of the specific guidance I provide for Christians, this resource was developed diversely with the unifying message that OCD is OCD- and not a faith problem. Anyone can have a faith problem at any time, yet OCD is a neuropsychiatric condition that affects sufferers similarly, consistently, and has historically remained remarkably stable. Placing the right emphasis on a problem helps direct the right attention and resources to bring aid to the challenge.
The resources are there to educate, validate, and differentiate in basic ways between OCD and faith. May you find it encouraging.
