Popular recording artist Danny Gokey recently shared his battle with OCD (scrupulosity), AD/HD, trauma, and depression. This comes as Braden Smith (Offensive Tackle for the Indianapolis Colts) recently detailed his severe struggle with OCD. I hope you are encouraged to hear stories that make tangible the 3% of those who have (or will have) OCD worldwide (33% of those with scrupulosity—spiritual and moral obsessions).
My Response to Dr. Amen’s Interview
I’ve listened to Danny’s songs for years and have connected on a deep level, and now I have some more insight into why. Gokey was on American Idol, and you may recognize many of his songs, like Tell Your Heart to Beat Again. He’s a courageous, a deep thinker, and he has persevered in the faith through adversity from without and within. I hope you are as encouraged as I am. My main counterpoint to the video is that the most effective treatment for his scrupulosity wasn’t mentioned. Catch his interview here, and click the link below for my response.
